Guidelines for Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage in

DIMENSI: Jurnal Ilmu Administrasi supports the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in scholarly research and academic publishing.

The journal recognizes the growing role of AI in research, administration, governance, management, public policy, and social sciences while emphasizing that academic integrity, human responsibility, and scientific accountability must remain central in all scholarly activities.

For Authors

A. Ethical and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors must clearly disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools during the research and manuscript preparation process, including but not limited to:

  • Data analysis

  • Language editing

  • Statistical processing

  • Visualization

  • Coding assistance

  • Translation support

  • Content generation

Any AI-assisted content included in the manuscript remains under the full responsibility of the author(s).

Authors are accountable for the:

  • Accuracy

  • Originality

  • Integrity

  • Validity

  • Ethical compliance

of all submitted materials.

Authors must ensure that the use of AI complies with applicable ethical standards, privacy regulations, and data protection principles, particularly when research involves personal, institutional, confidential, or sensitive information.

The use of AI tools must not result in:

  • Plagiarism

  • Copyright infringement

  • Fabricated data

  • Falsified references

  • Misleading interpretations

  • Manipulated research findings

AI-generated text, images, tables, figures, codes, or analytical outputs must be critically reviewed and verified before manuscript submission.

DIMENSI: Jurnal Ilmu Administrasi does not recognize Artificial Intelligence systems or tools as authors. Authorship is limited to individuals who make significant intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

B. AI in Research Methodology and Data Analysis

Authors are encouraged to use AI technologies responsibly to support research quality, innovation, analytical rigor, and scientific advancement.

Any AI-assisted analysis, interpretation, prediction model, algorithmic process, or computational method used in the research must be transparently explained within the methodology section of the manuscript.

Authors should critically evaluate the:

  • Reliability

  • Validity

  • Fairness

  • Transparency

  • Limitations

  • Potential biases

of AI systems applied during the research process.

Research findings generated with AI support must remain:

  • Scientifically accountable

  • Reproducible

  • Verifiable

  • Open to academic evaluation

C. Academic Integrity and Originality

All manuscripts submitted to DIMENSI: Jurnal Ilmu Administrasi must represent original scholarly work and genuine intellectual contributions from the author(s).

Authors may use AI tools only as supportive instruments and not as substitutes for:

  • Academic reasoning

  • Critical analysis

  • Scientific interpretation

  • Scholarly judgment

  • Intellectual contribution

Any substantial AI assistance in writing, editing, coding, translation, or data processing should be transparently acknowledged within the manuscript, preferably in the acknowledgment section or methodology section.

Authors remain fully responsible for ensuring that:

  • References and citations are accurate

  • Empirical findings are valid

  • Interpretations are academically sound

  • Conclusions are scientifically justified

D. Transparency and Accountability

Authors should maintain transparency regarding the extent, purpose, and nature of AI usage throughout the research and publication process.

Collaborative research teams are encouraged to establish clear agreements regarding:

  • AI usage

  • Authorship responsibilities

  • Data governance

  • Ethical accountability

  • Research transparency

before conducting research activities.

Failure to disclose inappropriate, excessive, or unethical AI usage may result in:

  • Manuscript rejection

  • Editorial investigation

  • Retraction of published articles

  • Other editorial actions in accordance with publication ethics standards

For Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts received for peer review.

Reviewers are prohibited from uploading submitted manuscripts, data, figures, tables, or confidential materials into generative AI platforms or external AI systems, as such actions may violate:

  • Confidentiality principles

  • Copyright protection

  • Intellectual property rights

  • Ethical review standards

Reviewers are expected to conduct evaluations objectively, independently, fairly, and based on scholarly merit.

Any limited use of AI tools to support review activities must not compromise confidentiality, reviewer independence, or the integrity of the peer-review process.

All review comments, recommendations, and editorial evaluations remain the sole responsibility of the reviewer.

For Editors

Editors must ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and ethical management of all submitted manuscripts throughout the editorial and publication process.

Editors should not upload manuscript content, reviewer comments, editorial correspondence, or confidential publication materials into generative AI systems or third-party AI platforms that may compromise:

  • Privacy

  • Confidentiality

  • Copyright protection

  • Data security

  • Publication ethics

Editorial decisions must remain based on:

  • Academic quality

  • Originality

  • Relevance

  • Methodological rigor

  • Ethical standards

  • Alignment with the journal scope

and not solely on AI-generated assessments or automated recommendations.
