Publications Ethics

Jurnal Ekonomi Administrasi dan Sosial (JEAS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The editorial board is responsible for ensuring ethical publication practices in accordance with internationally recognized standards, including the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Editors, authors, and reviewers are expected to uphold academic integrity, transparency, originality, and professionalism throughout the publication process.

Section A: Publication and Authorship

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a peer-review process conducted by at least two qualified reviewers.
  • The review process applies a blind peer-review system.
  • Review considerations include originality, relevance, academic contribution, methodological soundness, clarity, and alignment with the journal scope.
  • The editorial decision may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
  • Acceptance of revised manuscripts is not guaranteed.
  • Rejected manuscripts will not normally be reconsidered for review.
  • Manuscripts must not violate plagiarism, copyright, or ethical publication standards.
  • A manuscript submitted to JEAS must not be under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
  • Research findings must not be published redundantly in multiple publications.

Section B: Authors’ Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and free from plagiarism.
  • Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under review elsewhere.
  • Authors are required to participate actively in the peer-review and revision process.
  • Authors should provide accurate and authentic research data.
  • All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research and manuscript preparation.
  • Authors must properly acknowledge all references and sources used in the manuscript.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  • If significant errors are discovered after publication, authors must promptly notify the editors and cooperate in corrections or retractions.
  • Authors are responsible for complying with research ethics standards applicable to their study.

Section C: Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  • Reviewers should provide constructive feedback supported by clear academic arguments.
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors where appropriate.
  • Reviewers should inform the editors about substantial similarities between the reviewed manuscript and other published works.
  • Reviewers must avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
  • Reviewers should complete the review process within the agreed timeframe.

Section D: Editors’ Responsibilities

  • Editors have full authority to accept or reject manuscripts based on academic merit.
  • Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal publication.
  • Editorial decisions should be based on originality, clarity, relevance, and contribution to the journal scope.
  • Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
  • Editors must preserve reviewer anonymity throughout the review process.
  • Editors should take appropriate action when ethical concerns or publication misconduct are identified.
  • Editors should publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.
  • Editors must avoid conflicts of interest involving authors, reviewers, and editorial members.
  • Editors should ensure that all published research complies with ethical and academic standards.

Section E: Ethical Oversight

JEAS follows ethical publication practices based on the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability. Cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices will be handled seriously by the editorial board.

The journal encourages all parties involved in the publication process to adhere to the ethical guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
