Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ilmu Politik, Pemerintahan dan Komunikasi (JIPPK) applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic contribution of all published manuscripts. Under this system, the identities of authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, compliance with submission requirements, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic standards may be declined at this stage.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, analytical quality, clarity of presentation, and significance of findings.

Revision Process

Authors receive reviewers’ comments and recommendations through the journal system. When revisions are required, authors are expected to revise the manuscript and provide a response explaining how reviewer comments have been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be subject to additional review when necessary.

Editorial Decision

The Editor considers reviewer evaluations and recommendations before making a final decision. Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The final publication decision remains the responsibility of the Editor.

Production and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed through copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final publication. Authors may be contacted during these stages to verify information and ensure publication accuracy.

Review Principles

The peer review process is conducted in accordance with the principles of confidentiality, impartiality, academic integrity, professionalism, and scholarly excellence. Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit, originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript to the fields of political science, government studies, and communication studies.

Review Timeline

The average review and editorial process generally takes approximately 8–12 weeks, depending on reviewer availability, manuscript quality, and the extent of revisions required.
